Eye On Grace Foundation

About Us

The Eye on Grace Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2024 by Ashley McCrary, an Ocular Melanoma patient. Ashley was diagnosed with OM in 2012 and had to have her right eye removed. Eight years later she had the cancer spread to her liver, then lung and breast. Ashley has traveled to Philadelpia, PA once a week for a clinical trial since 2021. She has been blessed with minimal out of pocket expense due to a cancer indemnity plan with AFLAC and the sponsorship of the trial.

In an effort to "pay it forward," Ashley, her husband Dave, and her children started the foundation in hopes of helping others with OM travel for treatment.

Our Mission

The primary goal of the Eye on Grace Foundation is to help alleviate the financial burden associated with treatment-related travel for those diagnosed with Ocular/Uveal Melanoma. Our hope is to ensure this unique group of people can access the necessary care without worrying about the costs associated with travel and related expenses. In addition, an annual donation will be made in support of research to find a cure for this rare cancer.

It has been said, "One person may not be able to do a lot, but when a lot of people do a little it can make a BIG difference." The average cost for a person with OM to travel for one treatment is $500-$1500. Multiple trips are required which can be financially devastating as well as stressful during an already stressful time. Having cancer is difficult, but having a rare cancer where you have to travel for treatment is even more challenging. With your donation we can help alleviate the cost of treatment-related travel for those with Ocular Melanoma and help fund much needed research. Thank you for helping support our mission.

Our Motto

Our motto is “keep your eye on grace.” It reminds us that even in our moments of weakness or difficulty, God's grace is available to us. II Corinthians 12:9 beautifully states the idea that our difficulties or weaknesses are not a barrier to receiving God's support but an opportunity for His grace to shine ever brighter. It’s a message of hope and encouragement for those facing challenges, such as those with OM, to remember their struggles are met with an abundance of God's grace and His strength. This perspective can transform how we approach and navigate our difficulties, focusing on the sufficiency of grace rather than the weight of the obstacles.

  • Acre is a delightful anachronism -- a restaurant with sophisticated charm and repurposed architectural details serving stylishly modern food with roots deep in Southern soil. Good traditions for good people, a neighborhood place perfect for conducting business, relaxing with friends or making memories with family.

Acre is located in the historic downtown district of Auburn just three blocks from Toomer’s Corner, the heart of the Auburn community. Chef David Bancroft and his team bring classic favorites to the table with fresh, innovative flavors and artistic presentations. “Our goal is to interpret the complex, traditional tastes of the Deep South in a totally fresh and modern way,” says Bancroft.

  • A 2016, 2017, and 2018 semifinalist for the James Beard Foundation’s “Best Chef: South” award and winner of Food Network’s “Iron Chef Showdown” competition in 2017, David Bancroft opened his second restaurant concept in Auburn, AL called Bow & Arrow. Bow & Arrow is Bancroft’s interpretation of a South Texas smokehouse, utilizing the slow smoked meats in a variety of dishes that pay homage to his influences growing up in South Texas. Bow & Arrow serves up an assortment of smoked meats that can be enjoyed on their own with an array of traditional southern and tex mex sides like mashed potatoes and gravy, collard greens, borracho beans, and sweet corn rice. The menu also includes enchiladas, fajitas, tacos as well as a brand new cocktail menu featuring twenty-six new libations, with of course, margaritas!
